Kirsten Rennie

Kirsten Rennie PhD RNutr has a M.A. in Biological Anthropology and completed her M.Phil.andthen Ph.D. in Epidemiology at the Institute of Public Health, University of Cambridge in 2000. She is a registered nutritionist with a specialism in Public Health. Kirsten is currently a Senior Research Fellow in Epidemiology at the University of Hertfordshire, UK and an epidemiology consultant at OXON Epidemiology in London where she leads projects in study design, database analysis and evidence synthesis.

She has previously worked at University College London, MRC Cambridge Human Nutrition Research, University of Ulster and in industry as Senior Epidemiologist at Unilever and UBC. Kirsten’s main research interests are in physical activity and dietary behaviours, in relation to obesity and cardiometabolic diseases across the life course. Kirsten has published more than 50 papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals and has worked on a number of large national and international observational studies, focused on nutrition, childhood obesity and metabolic diseases.
