Editor in Chief- Profile

Prof. Zhe-Sheng (Jason) Chen received his M.D. degree from Guangdong Medical and Pharmaceutical College (now, named as Guangdong Pharmaceutical University), Master degree from Sun Yat-Sen University School of Public Health, China and Ph.D. degree from Kagoshima University Faculty of Medicine, Japan. He worked as a JSPS (Japanese Society for Promotion Science) fellow in Japan and a postdoctoral fellow in medical oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center. Currently Dr. Chen is a Professor at St. John’s University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Dr. Chen is also a director of Institute for Biotechnology at St. John’s University. His interests range from laboratory studies and clinical studies on drug resistance in leukemia, ovarian cancer, lung cancer and others. His Cancer Pharmacology laboratory is dedicated to find anticancer agents that, alone, or in combination with other agents to circumvent drug resistance in cancer treatment.
Dr. Chen is also an Editor-in-Chief of Journal of New Developments in Chemistry, an editor of African Journal of Pharmacy and Pharmacology and an associate editor of Journal of Analytical Oncology, Journal of Cancer Metastasis and Treatment and a guest editor of Current Pharmaceutical Biotechnology. Dr. Chen is an editorial board member of 26 journals and a reviewer of more than 170 peer reviewed journals. As a consultant to pharmaceutical, biotechnology and health industry organizations, Dr. Chen commands more than 150 invitations for presentations, keynote addresses, and conference chairman. He published more than 180 publications in peer reviewed journals. Dr. Chen is also a grant reviewer of NIH (USA), Chinese National Natural Science Foundation (China), The Genesis Oncology Trust (New Zealand), National Science Centre (Poland), The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Grant, Hong Kong (China), the Hungarian Scientific Research Fund (OTKA) (Hungary), the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) (Netherlands), the Czech Science Foundation (Czech) and The Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federal etc.
