Dr. Afreen Usmani works as Principal at Umapati Mahadev College of Pharmacy, Amroha. She has served as Assistant Professor at the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Integral University, Lucknow. She played a vital role in a research project funded by UPCST (CST/5018) entitled “Evaluation and Identification of Mechanism involved in Defensive Role of Kalonji Oil Based Nanoformulations in Cancer.” Afreen was awarded the degree of Ph.D. in   Pharmacology by   Integral University, Lucknow. The subject of her doctoral thesis was “Green Synthesis of Silver Nanoformulation Using Nigella sativa Seeds Extract for Hepatocellular Carcinoma”. The thesis suggested that green synthesized N. Sativa AgNPs can be an efficient alternative tool for clinical application in liver cancer therapy. In her Master’s Program, she submitted her dissertation entitled “Hepatoprotective Activity of Anacyclus pyrethrum Root Extract in Anti-tubercular Drugs Induced Hepatotoxicity in Rats”. Afreen has to her credit more than twenty research articles in various SCOPUS-INDEXED National and International Journals. She has authored a book entitled “Drug Store and Business Management”. Her area of specialization lies in Pharmacology and Toxicology, Hepatocellular Carcinoma, Hepatoprotective Activity, Nanoformulations, Anti-inflammatory and Wound healing activity. She teaches Pharmacology and Toxicology, Human Anatomy and Physiology, Hospital and Clinical Pharmacy, and Drug Store and Business Management. At present, she is engaged in writing three books entitled Pharmacology and Toxicology, Hospital and Clinical Pharmacy, and Women’s Emancipation in India: Myth or Reality.
